Hayter Avenue Crips in Paramount

Many neighborhoods can not maintain themselves with the level of competition. They may get pulled into other neighborhoods or they just fade out. Only discuss those areas from LOS ANGELES that are gone.

Hayter Avenue Crips in Paramount

Unread post by alexalonso » September 30th, 2012, 1:12 pm

Back in 1997 or 1998 I noticed Hayter Avenue Crips on a Sheriff's list of gangs in LA County. I had never heard of them so I went to Hayter Avenue and it didnt look like a typical gang neighborhood. I noticed a few black teens / early 20s in a garage and I asked them if they ever heard of the set. I one of the kids said "I started that last year," and he went on to tell me they got played out a few months later.

I was looking at a more recent gang list for LA County, and Hayter Avenue Crip was still listed.

Gotta remember....The police love to inflate the numbers cuzz the more gangs the more money ,support and officers...feel me. It's funny cuzz back in the day...they used to downplay their gang problems but when they saw tax payers would give more money to fight gangs...The police started exaggerate their gang problem.

I can say with 100 percent confidence, that Hayter Avenue Crips lasted less than one year and has not existed in 15 years, but is still on the list.
