"Active" Hoods that you think most likely will go defunct
Which hoods do you think is on the brink of going defunct or could go that direction?
I always think of Geer Gang & Limehood Piru. Didn't they get pushed out by rival Hispanic gangs?
I'm thinking 59 ECC as well. Not many active members, and the place turned mostly Hispanic.
By Yo Self Gangster Crip too... I don't see them around in their original hood at all.
18th Street Hollywood Gangsters... gentrification like crazy...

All the black Hood in the Low Bottoms will loose membership within the next 10 to 15 years.

Are the Low Bottoms all of East Side SC, or just the north part (from around Slauson up to the 10)?alexalonso wrote:All the black Hood in the Low Bottoms will loose membership within the next 10 to 15 years.

18 Street Hollywood Gangsters hood borders are basically:shaolinmonche wrote: Where is 18st hood in Hollywood? I have family that live in MS13 Hollywood Locos neighborhood
West - Highland
East - Gower
South - Hollywood Blvd
North - Bottom of the hillside (northwest) and the 101 freeway (northeast)
The ground zero of their hood is the intersection of Yucca St & Wilcox Ave
Of course they were more active in the 80's and 90's. So don't expect much activity even at ground zero. Gentrification has made them smaller. I met up with a friend in 2005 who lived in their hood, and he pointed out a group of 18s, which wasn't that long ago so I'm assuming 18 St still has a presence. I'm told there are still some low-income apartments in the area. But they're going to be building a lot of luxury apartments & condos in that area soon.

They recruit mostly from the I.E. and Palmdale/lancaster.

That’s been my opinion in these last 5 or so years. Gang membership numbers have got to be pretty low, from what I can tell in most areas, relative to 10-15 years ago. And I don’t think it’ll go back to how it was.

Re: "Active" Hoods that you think most likely will go defunct
Gang Injunctions killed a lot of active hoods and gentrification.
And there’s cameras everywhere now. People don’t want to put in work anymore. It’s not worth it. It’s hard to getaway with murder when there’s cameras all over the main streets, parks, and in the hood.
There’s cameras all over the hood now from Apartment owners.

Yeah. There’s hoods that are still pretty deep but they’re deep in jail and prison.
If you really really start getting active like that you’re going straight to jail, simple as that. Everything’s else is kinda low key.

Re: "Active" Hoods that you think most likely will go defunct
seems like most hoods are getting smaller in numbers and have two kinds of membership, low key bunch of foos who ain't sh*t, and just a few crazys doing the work
i also see that there's been an increase of stabbings, seems like you don't get the same amount of time thrown at you for using a blade instead of a fusca if you get busted for it

NSU 13 over on 58th st and Vermont been dead for almost 10 years. Last I heard they moved their hood over by 38st hood. I don’t think that was a smart move for a small hood.
