Raymond Washington's father's house on 84th Street

Unread post by alexalonso » December 18th, 2020, 6:53 pm

Although Raymond Washington lived with his mother on 76th Street near Wadsworth, his father lived on 84th Street just off Hooper Avenue on a dead end street that ran into back of Drew Junior High school. He lived on the last house on the south side of the street. Raymond's father lived at 1260 E. 84th Street and this is where he connected with Craig Monson, Donny Boy, and Teddy Bear from the Avenues. He was in this area during the pre-Crip area. I know for sure that in 1968 and 1969 he was here hanging out. Maybe 1967 too.

Teddy Bear lived across the street from this house and he is probably the first Avenue that he ever me. Raymond's father purchased this house in the 1960s, not sure of the year.
