Is there less strict requirements for entry into the traids and yakuza? I notice that because of the large membership within individual groups but wouldn't it be better to have an exclusive membership like La Cosa Nostra? Or is there more advantage to their structure?

When one sees, for instance, the tens of thousands of "members" listed for the Yamaguchi Gumi Clan of the Yakuza, only around 100 people are formally inducted true members. The thousands of others belong to any number of groups under the umbrella of the Yamaguchi Gumi.

Where did you get the 100 members? and they are definetly not a secret society -in alot of ways they arent even a criminal enterprise-and they are definetly not a 200 year old mafia-if they even are a mafia! They didnt get their start till after WW2
