Cleveland Police make gang arrests

(Cleveland) - The police SWAT Team rushed to a house on Hamlet late Saturday morning in response to a call about a home invasion.

Upon their arrival, officers in responding zone cars reported encountered two males exiting the home, and at least one of the males was armed with a firearm.

Crisis Negotiators arrived at the scene and attempted to make contact with any remaining suspects that might have been in the house. Police report all residents were safe and accounted for, after the SWAT Team made entry. Two firearms were recovered.

Later, 6 males were detained and two were arrested on unrelated warrants.

The Cleveland Police Gang Impact Squad responded to an address on Invermere where they arrested a male named as a suspect in the home invasion on Hamlet.

Investigators believe the incident on Hamlet was a result of a gang related dispute, and say additional arrests are likely.
