yeah man but they are like part time gangsters... they like spray paint buildings and call it a day... mobsters do things liek the luthansa heist which stole 7=8 mil dollars in one night... they cant even call those 10 000 gangsters, only about 200-250 can be called gangsters and they dont even move tht much drugs

In the past, street gangs (like the Irish, Jews, and Italians) were often training grounds for guys who would eventually join an organized crime group. However the gangs of today (mainly black and Hispanic) usually stay as street gangs. The larger ones who are extremely violent and deeply involved in the drug trade have been considered organized crime themselves. But there is still a difference of sophistication between them and organized crime groups like the Colombian and Mexican cartels, the Italian Mafia, etc. That's not to say there aren't links between them. The drugs moved by the Colombians and the Mexicans often end up in the hands of the gangs at the street distribution level. The Chicago Outfit has at times financed drug deals by gangs there. And just this month, members of the 9 Trey Bloods gang in New Jersey were indicted along with members of the Lucchese family for smuggling drugs and cell phones into prison.

The LCN has much more than 500/600 members left in NYC alone and not to even mention the rest of the state. Rudaj didnt move those mob guys out of astoria or the bronx. Astoria-Queens has been moslty albanian since the late 90's. Those gambling operations that were the subject of this whole fairytale were operated by greek mobsters in Astoria and backed by some luchesse bookies which is were the whole mob connection came from. When the Luchesse admin got pinched on RICO charges (gaspipe with them) those gambling spots were left wide open with no real bankroll to cover them or protection so the rudaj crew saw its chance and moved in to pick up that slack and set up shop. The area was already heavily albanian so it was the perfect spot to start with. The luchesses were never there to begin with and the greek crooks that were running those operations with them didnt have the muscle or bankroll to back those operations properly. The rudaj crew came in and forced them to use them as backing.
The only true/actual incident that occured where the rudaj crew backed off some mobguys is when squiteri, who was the gambino acting boss at the time,, decided he wanted to scoop those gambling operations up for himself plus whatever other reasons which lead to an arranged meeting with rudaj at a gas station somewhere near jersey. Apparently squiteri got hot with one of the rudaj crew (perhaps rudaj himslef) and pulled a gun on someone at which point one of rudaj's bodygaurds pointed a shotgun at one of the gas pumps and threated to blow up everyone. At some point after this, squiteri told his bodyguards to back down and everyone left leaving matters unresolved. Pretty soon after this came the feds who went in and busted the entire rudaj crew eventually leading to long term prison sentances for just about all of them. If there was going to be any war betweeen the gambinos and rudaj crew we will never know because there wasnt even enough time to talk about it.

As far as all you silly internet gangbangster wannabe badasses posting crap like 'fuck lcn' for the comfortable saftey of your bedrooms which are probably lined with posters of fuckin poop-dog and every other gangsta rapper asswipe on MTV, I suggest you get a damn life and stop imitating what you see in your rap videos. Its just too pathetic to watch. At least go back to school and repeat the 4th grade so you can learn how to write a fuckin sentance in english instead of in ebony-bonics.

Organized crime members, LCN or otherwise, have their own 'courts/cars' in most prisons through out the east and midwest, particularly in the federal system. Those prison yards are full of them. Prison gangmembers dont get paid to protect anybody except in a few instances when a members/members of a prominant OC syndicate are transfered to a prison system that is outside their native state, which would mean they would not have usual connections and protection they would get from members/associates in their own syndicate. LCN members in particular are often seperated and kept under high security level classifications which means they are under constant heavy scrutiny by BOP officials. They cannot conduct criminals operations as an organization on the inside as easliy as the hispanic/black/white-redneck prison gangs can. This is because the BOP classifies them as more of a threat to the power structure and stability of the prison system than the typical prison gang poses. This is the old strategy of divide to conquer that has been used countless times in the past. Bop officials have been and still are known to seperate members of different LCN families based on nothing more than their area of residence. LCN crime family members from Queens can be seperated from members coming from another borough like Brooklyn. Members of the same crime family can be seperated from each other based on the same thing... guys from bensonhurst can be seperated from guys that are from bayridge and so on and etc. This kind of strategy has been the subject of criticism and scrutiny by many prison activists and also Italian-American civil rights activists.

theres a reason the mafia could never really get into the gangster rap scene like they infiltrated lot of other artists business, and genres.
